Background: Chad grew up in the west suburbs of Minneapolis, Minnesota. He attended Hamline University, graduating in 1976 with a Bachelor of Arts. He attended the University of Iowa College of Law and graduated with honors in 1979. Prior to joining Reynolds and Kenline he clerked for the United States Attorney’s Office in Minneapolis, and the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office in St. Paul. He has been engaged in private practice with Reynolds and Kenline since 1980. He has been a partner since 1984.
Areas of Practice: Chad’s primary emphasis in practice is in the are of securing claimant’s rights. On behalf of injured workers, accident victims, and wronged employees, he has secured many sizeable awards, through verdicts and settlements, in the areas of worker compensation, wrongful death, motor vehicle accidents, employment and discrimination law, civil rights, and disability law. Beyond these primary areas, Chad also practices in the areas of estate planning, and real estate, probate, and corporate law.

Professional Involvement: Chad is a member of the Iowa Trial Lawyers Association, The American Trial Lawyers Association (now The American Association for Justice), The American Bar Association (Labor and Employment Law Section), and the Dubuque County Bar Association. In 2006, he was elected to serve as a judicial nominating commissioner of District 1A of the Iowa District Court.
Community Involvement: For over 20 years, Chad has served as a volunteer lawyer for Iowa Legal Aid. He also serves as legal counsel for Dubuque and Jackson County Habitat for Humanity, and as a board member of he Dubuque Community Y. In prior years, he has held positions with the Dubuque Jaycees, the Dubuque Chamber for Commerce, the Dubuque Airport Commission, and the Dubuque Food Pantry.
